Various terms like patches, Committers, issue trackers , RFE etc. were discussed in brief. Then the available licenses like GNU GPL, Apache license, CopyLeft were introduced. It was made known that almost every commercial software now has an Open Source alternative, and one can learn , use, and benefit largely. Attendees were happy to know that it can become a platform to make their work noticed and remembered for years to come.
Then the Web Services were introduced. It was aptly shown how easy it is to write a Web Service application. A demo for the same was given. A proper introduction on web Servers, web services and few important sites were given.
After each of the above discussions there was an open discussion and questions on various aspects of the topic. Mr. Tushar Joshi and Mr. Manish Kungwani provided various answers and references for questions asked and points discussed.
